I was born in South Africa, educated in England and Scotland.  I now live in San Francisco.  I take inspiration from the patterns of Nature, their connection with human iconography.  I have always tried to understand Magic Realism.  I work mainly with colored pencils, and acrylic paint.  Recently, I have started painting acrylic on wood I find at Ocean Beach, using the wood’s natural lines and contours.  I have never studied painting formally, although I have always indulged from an early age at various levels of schooling.  Painting occupies nearly all my spare time, an absolute joy relative to the drabness of daily existence.
