My name is Sam Dunford I am 22 years old and have been an artist, on and off for around 5 years now. I completed a 2 year course in Art and Design 4 years ago, achieving 2 A-Levels. I originally went to college because I did not want to start full time work, but once I had been there for a few months it turned out to be some of the best times of my life and made me realise how much I love painting, also how much I want to be a professional Artist.
At the moment I am "getting by",by working 32 hours a week at B&Q. Not the most glamorous job in the world, but it pays the bills. Now, as I have been working there over 5 years, it is time to get serious about my art, which is the main reason for starting this website.
I have lived in Poole, Dorset, for around 7 years, before that I lived in Oxfordshire for most of my life. I love being down the south, the beaches are lovely and I live right by the sea, one thing I have always wanted to do. I guess that is where a lot of my inspiration comes from.
On this website, you can find, information about me, my artwork and commissions, galleries featuring my art, how to get in contact with me, if you'd like. A Guestbook where you can leave comments about my site and my paintings. Useful links and links to other Artist's website's, also, now you can purchase a small selection of my paintings and prints of my paintings on my website.
New blog entry 09/11/08:
Market Week 1
Today was my first day at Wimborne Market. The day has been a little dissappointing, as I did not sell any prints. Hannah sold a card so I was really pleased for her.
The day has been really quiet, even the regular sellers there were saying that sales were very slow.
We are going to try again next weekend but set up in the actual art and craft section that they have, as the position we were in probably did not do our work justice, we were surrounded by a lot of the stalls that sell books and odds and sods so we were not getting much attention around our area.
So I am a little disappointed but i'm not giving up yet.
