Surrealism vs. the Philosophical Realism of Jan G. Marque.

The Surrealists believed in what they called an “absolute reality,” a sub-conscious place where dream and reality melt together. For them the dream is the expression of reality, with all their visions and symbols hidden inside.

Take for example their psychic “automatism,” through which written, orally, or plastics, the working of the mind is expressed, that what is dictated through the spirit, without control of the mind, and outside aesthetics or moral. Not to mention Sigmund Freud and his psychoanalysis, which forms also a strong base for the surrealists vision.

Welcome and a happy Christmas and a prosperous New Year to one and all.

December has brought us higher rankings in the search engines and we now enjoy approx 2000 hits a month / 24,000 hits a year. Not bad when you consider we were only reaching 400 hits a month 3 months ago. In 2008 we will of course continue to promote the site and our ranking in the search engines.

A very warm welcome goes to Simon Wright Graham McPherson Michael cash Andrew McIntyre Stella Schiavotelo Connie van Winssen Henk Sentel and Robert Verheyen who all joined the art gallery in December. We hope you all enjoy using the site and if you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask.

New Year Resolutions
  • We will remain FREE in 2008 and we have no plans to ever charge.
  • We will never let adverts infect the site or your art exhibition space
  • We will continue to promote the site in search engines.
Why haven't you joined the gallery?

There is absolutley no reason for artists not to join the gallery

  • Wobblybridge is totally FREE and carries no risk.
  • Along with being free we also feel  that we give fairer exposure to all artists.
  • You can request that your exhibition space is removed at any time if you are not happy.
  • You can link to your own website if you have one.
  • Add articles and exhibitions announcements to our blog
  • We never contact you unless we really have to.
  • Your email adresses are never given to anyone.
  • Did I mention that we are FREE :)
Why are we Free?

The site is free because I love the discovery of new art or art I would never see unless sites like this one existed. I also want to pass this pleasure on to other art lovers around the world.

We are really looking forward to 2008 and the continued growth of Wobblybridge the Online Art Gallery. Please enjoy the site and please call back at any time.

Best Regards

Paul Leeson
