When I introduce myself, I say “art runs into my veins”.

This comes from the fact which, although I have never been an academic of arts, I felt since my childhood a very strong attraction for arts, I had aimed to learn painting techniques and improved them as I was exposed to other artists works and developing my own work.

My first major influence in the arts took place at home where I grew up seeing my mother’s paintings. She was also a self-taught and she preferred to paint oil in canvas, with floral themes and landscapes.

I have started my work in childhood with drawings on graphite, improved to nankin and finally oil in canvas became my favorite way.

I am an observer and like painting people's faces. That was why I decided to paint figures, those one that speak stronger to me and, consequently, I admire. I like working with shadows and contrasts that show parts of those faces and hides others. My goal is to form collections with those personalities. The first of them, I called “Black Pearl Collection” and is composed of six paints, all in panels painted in oil with black background. The second one that I am working on is the “Sapphire Collection”, also painted in oil on canvas, but with blue background.

My preference is painting personalities portraits that take my attention, either by the expression of their eyes, either by the state of mind that they can show. My works are figurative, but not in a ultra-realistic way, working with shadows, showing strong expressions, and especially preserving important features of their physiognomies.

My collections are created in oil on panels and I wish I could honor and perpetuate faces and expressions captured from my way of see each of personalities.
