After college in the Netherlands Birgit lived some 20 years in various European counties as well as the Far East. Although self-taught she studied painting with different artists whom she met during these years abroad. In those years she used to work on commissions, mainly with watercolours and pastels. Now back in her native Holland since a few years, she is mostly painting with acrylics which she enjoys very much. Most of her work is colouful. Birgit's love for nature is apparent as most of her painitngs contain flowers or farm animals. But also other original themes inspire her which make her portfolio very diverse.
